Ode to Fall

Rainy skies, turning leaves, and the sound of thunder
the telltale signs of a summer driven asunder.

The Fall is coming! Escorted by gray clouds and hail,
O' splendid Fall, inevitably you prevail!

What marvels lie in wait? I can only hope and anticipate
the sights, the smells, and (of course) the taste!

I'll not be lost in back-to-school cliches!
With impatient deliberation, I analyze the days

O Fall, O Fall, we await you in wonder.
With longing and with awe we listen for your tale.
Come to us, O Fall, and come to us in haste,
come to us O Fall, come ready to amaze!
